Anti-Inflammatory Activities of Copper(II) and Zinc(II) p-Cresotates Dihydrates
PROTIZÁPALOVÁ AKTIVITA DIHYDRÁTUp p-KREZOTÍNANU MEĎNATÉHOA ZINOČNATÉHO
Antiedematózna aktivita dihydrátu diakva-tetrakis(p-krezotináto)dimeďnatého komplexu (CupK)a diakva-bis(p-krezotináto)zinočnatého komplexu (ZnpK) bola hodnotená pletyzmometricky nadextránovom a karagenínovom edéme na potkanoch. Dihydrát diakva-bis(salicyláto)meďnatéhokomplexu (CuS) a diakva-bis(salicyláto)zinočnatého komplexu (ZnS) boli použité ako porovnávacieštandardy. Všetky zlúčeniny boli podané i.p. v jednorazovej dávke 50 mmol/kg (počítané na RCOO--fragment) 30 min pred injikovaním iritačnej látky. Priemerná antidextránová/antikaragenínováaktivita látok (vyjadrená ako miera redukcie edému) bola zistená: CupK 46/74 % – ZnpK 50/26 % – CuS 71/52 % – ZnS 63/10 %. Vzťahy medzi koordinačno-chemickými vlastnosťami a biologickýmúčinkom príslušných komplexov sú diskutované.

Overview
Using rat paw dextran-induced and carrageenan-induced edemas, the antiedematous activities ofdihydrate of diaquatetrakis(p-cresotato)dicopper(II) complex (CupC) and diaquabis(p-cresotato)zinc(II) complex (ZnpC) were assayed plethysmometrically. Dihydrate of diaquabis(salicyla-to)copper(II) complex (CuS) and diaquabis(salicylato)zinc(II) complex (ZnS) were used as standardsof comparison. All compounds were applied i.p. in a single dose of 50 mmol/kg body weight (calculatedfor the RCOO-fragment) 30 min before injecting the irritant. The antidextran/anticarrageenanactivities of the species (expressed as a mean edema reduction) were found: CupC 46/74 % – ZnpC50/26 % – CuS 71/52 % – ZnS 63/10 %. The relationships between the coordination-chemicalproperties and the biological effects of the corresponding complexes are discussed.
